Position Summary:
The Assistant Salon Manager plays a vital leadership role in supporting daily salon operations. This position ensures a high standard of client service, team support, and salon upkeep while assisting in administrative and sales functions. The Assistant Manager helps onboard and guide staff, reinforce salon policies, and act as a dependable point of contact when the Salon Manager or Owner is unavailable.

Key Responsibilities:
Client Experience & Operations
Greet and assist clients with professionalism and care
Ensure a smooth client journey from check-in to check-out
Handle client concerns or escalations with a calm, solution-based approach
Oversee salon cleanliness and ambiance, ensuring it aligns with brand standards

Team Support & Oversight
Assist with staff scheduling, time-off approvals, and coverage coordination
Help train, onboard, and mentor new hires
Foster a team-oriented environment by encouraging communication and support
Support stylists and front desk team as needed during busy hours or staff shortages

Administrative, Marketing & Sales
Track and organize data using spreadsheets (e.g. scheduling, payroll prep, inventory, reporting)
Maintain salon website updates (hours, services, team bios, promotions, etc.)
Assist in creating and sending monthly email marketing campaigns
Support daily sales tracking and performance metrics
Help manage boutique merchandising and product restocking
Assist in event planning and seasonal promotions

Leadership
Enforce salon policies and cleanliness protocols
Serve as acting manager when needed
Represent the salon’s values, culture, and customer service standards
Bring proactive ideas to improve daily operations and client satisfaction

Qualifications:
Previous salon, spa, or retail management experience preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel; basic knowledge of website platforms and email tools (e.g., Squarespace, Wix, Mailchimp, or similar)
Friendly, composed, and confident with both clients and coworkers
Familiarity with salon booking software (e.g., Meevo, Millenium, etc.)
A current cosmetology license is a bonus

Must be flexible to work evenings and Saturdays

Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly Pay: Starting ar $20 an hour (Based on experience and qualifications)
