About Toni Lupinacci

Toni grew up in the salon business. Her father was a hair stylist who owned and operated a hair salon in Greenwich, CT in the 1960’s. She’s been sweeping floors and answering phones since she was a girl! After an early career in customer service and sales, Toni decided to follow her passion into the healing arts and joined the family salon & spa business located in Stamford, CT.

Toni attended and graduated from Christine Valmy School of Esthetics in NYC as a licensed Esthetician and The CT Center for Massage Therapy in Westport, CT, as a licensed Massage Therapist. Toni’s mission as a healing arts professional was to help people reconnect body, mind and spirit and enjoyed contributing to her client’s lives in a positive way.

Facilitating a Next Generation Business Acquisition

In 2000, Toni and her sister Cheryl, (a Master Stylist and Colorist) acquired ownership of the family business. For Toni a new passion of running the business was born. Working with business coaches and attending educational seminars she learned the importance of creating business systems, putting marketing strategies in place, hiring, training and retaining staff. For the next 15 years Toni and Cheryl worked tirelessly to expand the business by refining the staff’s technical skills, closely monitoring and supporting their progress, seeking out the latest in hair and skin care lines and providing and teaching exceptional customer service skills, all while maintaining a clientele of their own.

As the salon grew expansion became necessary and the salon took over the downstairs space in the building they occupied. This expansion doubled the square footage and the number of hair stations, revamped the spa area and added a trendy color bar. It also gave the business street level exposure in downtown Stamford. This took the business to a new level and La Jolie enjoyed many years of success and awards following the expansion.

After 35 years of owning and operating the business, Toni and her sister decided it was time to pass the torch to the next generation. The business was sold to their Salon Manager in February 2024. Toni is proud of La Jolie’s many accomplishments and grateful for her years in the industry surrounded by her sister and the talented La Jolie Team. She feels honored to have watched the team grow personally and professionally and humbled to have created long lasting relationships with staff and clientele.

Never one to rest on her laurels, Toni joined the team at Salon Spa Connection as a salon broker. After going
through the experience of selling her salon, she looks forward to assisting salon owners to sell their businesses and helping buyers find their dream salon. Cheers!
