She graduated cosmetology school in 1995 and worked as an apprentice in two different salon environments. After finding a great position as a hairstylist at the Jones Store in Overland Park Susan grew her clientele very quickly to become a top stylist in one of the largest salons in the city.
She moved on from there to open her own salon at the age of 25. After 5 years as a successful owner Susan sold the salon and moved overseas to experience working in a completely different environment as a senior stylist for the leader in quality salon services for a high-end corporate salon group. Susan moved back home to manage the salon she sold, then went on to have a thriving career as an independent stylist.
Susan recalls the struggles as a salon owner and has an eye for what works best in employment within our industry, so much so she ventured out on her own to launch a one of a kind employment matching system.
This system – Salon Employment Matchmaker – took off immediately and was welcomed with open arms by industry employers and licensed professionals as a smart solution to their employment issues. The popularity of the employment business speaks to Susan’s ability to understand what owners need, and to what they can do to obtain their goals in business.
Susan continues to operate the employment sector of Salonspa Connection and has welcomed several area experts into the company as a comprehensive offering to the local industry. She enjoys time with her family, being active and outdoors, and growing Salonspa Connection to its fullest potential.
